Boys' 'Millennium' can't end soon enough Judging by their new album's title, the Backstreet Boys intend to stick around long past the official 15-minute expiration on packaged boy groups. Too bad Millennium's featherweight meringue lacks freshness. The Orlando quintet's swooning ballads and polished dance tunes shamelessly recycle the recipes of the Boys' blockbuster debut, resulting in risk-free leftovers that range from the stale metallic disco of It's Gotta Be You to the carbonated Don't Want You Back, a reheated Everybody (Backstreet's Back). As cheesy as pizza, as sugary as Milk Duds, as flavorless as white bread, this is food for naught. That's not to say empty calories can't be appetizing, even for those past puberty. The Boys serve up a zesty platter of creamy R&B lite in first single I Want It That Way. Spry melodies and sumptuous harmonies enhance lovesick plaints and dance- floor serenades. The Boys will kick off a world tour June 2 in Belgium. The summer tour takes them through 13 European countries, ending Aug. 7 in Stockholm. A U.S. leg launches in September. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.twbbs.org) ◆ From: tp01305.seeder.
