曾經在馬林魚隊締造生涯高峰，現今僅30歲的火車D-willis日前宣布將退休，離開大
聯盟球場。
這位從2003年開始在馬林魚開啟他的大聯盟生涯，當年以14勝6敗防禦率3.30的Roy，
在05年達到最強時期，當年主投236.1局，先發34場投出22勝10敗的驚人表現，防禦率
也低到2.63的成績，單季出現5次完封讓他在球隊虎虎生風，06和07年也達200局以上
的表現，生涯最精華的五年都在馬林魚隊度過，可說是馬林魚的扛霸子。
可惜好景不長，08年轉隊到底特律老虎隊後，彷彿就像是得到投球失意症一樣，主投8
場24局，雖然投出18次三振，但卻投了35次保送，單季失25分可說是相當淒慘，隨即
被下放調整，過著在老虎隊三年不如意的生活。這三年在老虎隊只投了101局，被敲出
103支安打看似不多，投出68次三振，更慘的是投出92個保送，防禦率達6.86的成績，
與在馬林魚隊的任何一年比起來，都是生涯的最低點。
2010年轉到ARI後，狀況仍不慎起色，去年在CIN逐漸回穩，75.2局投出單季防禦率5的
成績，但戰績是悽慘的1勝6敗，今年轉到Orioles 3A投球，4場出賽拿下0勝3敗防禦率
8.53的成績，最後宣布退休宣言。
對於他來說，實力或許不需要質疑，生涯防禦率4.17，被上壘率1.43，也投出72勝69
敗的成績，是不錯的成績。
而他最令人讚賞的是他的打擊實力，身為投手9年的職棒打擊生涯能夠出現389個打數
95支安打，包括13支二壘打，6支三壘打和9支全壘打，打擊率還有到0.244的成績，上
壘率0.287和長打率0.378，ISOP達0.314，這種打擊能力都能夠轉任打者了。
雖然已經宣布要退休了，但真的不考慮轉成打者，僅僅30歲的他或許中途轉跑道，也
是不錯的選擇不是嗎？

pitching for Triple-A Norfolk in the Orioles organization this season in an
attempt to get back to the majors, has retired, the Orioles announced Monday
.The 30-year-old Willis was outstanding as a rookie in 2003 when he went 14-6
with a 3.30 ERA for the Marlins, and in 2005, when he went 22-10 with a 2.63
ERA and finished second in the National League Cy Young Award voting. But
his career declined from there.
In 2011 with the Reds, Willis went 1-6 with a 5.00 earned run average. He was
signed to a minor league contract by the Phillies before the season, but was
released and signed to a minor-league deal by the Orioles. Willis had an 0-3
record with an 8.53 ERA for Norfolk this year.
