Glory of Taiwan--Wang Chien-Ming

This summer, the topic that Taiwanese discuss with more delight than
anything else is not the disturbances in the Taiwan political scene,nor
the showbiz gossip. Rather, it is the consecutive display of exemplary
baseball games featuring ”Taiwan's very own” Wang Chien-ming!
Ever since A-ming's promotion to the MLB status by the New York Yankees
last year, baseball fans have been holding their breath as A-ming holds
his ground as a starting pitcher, gets injured and takes a break from
pitching, recovers and returns to the mound, pitches his first complete
game, and notches his first shutout. Such a feeling is akin to several
consecutive dips in the sauna! And because of A-ming's excellent display
,some travel agencies have launched the ”Wang Chien-ming Cheering Travel
Package,” while scores of netizens are requesting that his name be
included in Taiwan textbooks.
When pitching, A-ming always tries his best in his duty with much
taciturnity, and he always attributes the success to his teammates after
winning. His example has taught us that ”Loving Taiwan” is not something
that can be achieved by mere talk. It takes persistent hard work, silent
striving, and actual implementation to win admiration.Wouldn't you agree

今年夏天最令台灣人津津樂道的話題，不是台灣政壇的風風雨雨，更不是娛樂圈的種
種八卦，而是「台灣之子」王建民連續多場令人喝采的棒球比賽！
自從去年阿民登上美國大聯盟洋基隊以來，球迷們的心情跟著阿民站穩先發、受傷停
賽、傷癒復出、首度完投、首次完封…，好似洗了一場又一場的三溫暖！也因為阿民
優異的表現，已有旅遊業者推出「王建民加油之旅」，更有許多網友要求讓他名留台
灣的教科書。
阿民在球場上總是沈默盡職地扮演自己的角色，贏球後也總將功勞歸於隊友。阿民的
例子讓我們學到，「愛台灣」不是光靠一張嘴到處嚷嚷就可以，而是必須不斷努力、
默默奮鬥，以實際行動贏得他人的欽佩，不是嗎？
