走了Frank Thomas雖是打線上的創傷，但運動家今天(7日)立即填補DH的空缺，以1年
850萬美元簽下老將Mike Piazza，另外也找來同樣是前教士球員、後援投手Alan Emb
ree。

現年38歲的Piazza，大聯盟生涯前15年都待在國聯，是史上的捕手全壘打王，396支
比Carlton Fisk(351)、Johnny Bench(327)要來的多。先後待過道奇、大都會、馬林
魚、教士，總成績3成09打擊率、419支全壘打、1291分打點。

2006年Piazza出賽126場，繳出2成83打擊率、22支全壘打、68分打點成績，而他來到
美聯球隊，也象徵捕手的生涯將逐漸告終，即便他可在必要時擔任守備，但也不過是
排在Jason Kendall、Adam Melhuse之後的第3號捕手。

此外，運動家也以2年550萬美元找來左投Embree。根據合約內容，簽約金為25萬美元
，2007年年薪225萬、2008年300萬，運動家擁有2009年300萬美元選擇權。

Embree將接下Joe Kennedy的角色成為主力牛棚戰力之一，Kennedy預計將移至先發陣
容。

現年36歲的Embree於2006年球季出賽73場創單季新高，戰績4勝3敗16中繼、自責分率
3.27，生涯16年先後待過印第安人、勇士、巨人、小熊、紅襪、教士、洋基，總成績
34勝36敗8救援153中繼、自責分率4.56。

Embree好用之處在於他已經是連續8年至少出賽60場，是足堪重用的投手。
