Environment degration is a broad term referring to progress that deplete
or destory a region's resource base and thus hinder its long-term biological
and ecnomic productivity .Examples of major types of environment degradation
include (1)covering productive land with water ,silt,concrete ,asphalt ,or
buildings to such an extent that agricultural productivity declines
and place for wildlife to live are lost ,(2)cultivating land so intensively
without proper soil management that argicultural productivity is reduced
by soil erosion of plant nutrient ,(3)irrigating cropland without sufficient
drainage so that excessive accumulation of water (waterlogging)or salt (salini
-ation)in the soil decreases agricultural productivity.
