終於有老伯的新聞了^o^ http://www.guardian.co.uk/ http://www.blurtalk.com/newsmain.asp?id=124 喔 不過有人可以翻譯一下這篇 或解釋一下它嗎!#_#呵呵 ======== WHAT makes vinyl records more personal than digital formats is that you destroy them as you play them. They pick up nicks and scratches and become intimate and unique. Over time you come to hear the familiar pops and rumbles almost as part of the music, making the record your own. For a really intense experience, it’s hard to beat the sound of a great vintage 78rpm player. There’s something very exciting about the sound of what was cutting-edge technology straining to reproduce the dynamic range of an orchestra, the oscillating turntable speed making each play lively and unpredictable. But my greatest passion is reserved for wax cylinders and their many and varied types of players. The music is so lo-fi you can hardly hear it. Listeners can mostly make up the music in their heads. I suppose, too, I hanker after the good old days, huddled around the piano, the Blitz in the background providing an urgent, if dangerous, accompaniment. We pulled together in those days, you know, and you really could leave your front door open. Mind you, someone would nick all your stuff. What was the question again?
