２４號水星獎Mercury Music Prize 公佈提名名單，包括PJ Harvey, Gorillaz,
Radiohead 等皆榜上有名。水星獎將會在９月１１日於倫敦頒獎，得獎者會有獎金
２００００英鎊。
Gorrilaz 在７月２４日由他們的bass 手，一臉凶惡的Murdoc在報紙上發表聲明
拒絕接受提名，並形容這個獎" heavy ... like carrying a dead albatross round
your neck for eternity.""
雖然Gorillaz 拒絕接受提名，他們依然被保留在提名單當中，
