Boyzone sell out
Boyzone  have topped a new survey by the National Arenas Association. The
Irish
popsters set a record by playing to the highest total audience of 443,524
people in 1999.

The research detailed attendances, ticket prices and popularity of bands,
based
on 15 venues. Average attendance was 7, 778 during the 528 show days with the
average ticket price costing ￡22.58. More than 4m music fans flocked to
 concerts in 1999, paying a total of ￡92m for tickets says the survey.

Rock performers drew the largest share of the concert going audience in
Britain
and Ireland with  33%  while pop acts drew 26%. The National Arena
Association's
Alan Craig said: 'It shows how popular concert going has become and bodes well
for the future of live performance.'
