POP LIFE 1.Did managing Westlife entail a lot of hard work for you? I didn't manage the band. I just used my name to get them a record deal and then set up the first album. I guess initially I did cos I gave them advice and was there for them, but what can I do? 2.What has been the biggest thrill of your career to date? Getting up with Elton John in Madison Square Gardens - that was fairly magic. It was a dream come true. Beforehand I wondered what Elton would be like but he's just Elton, you know? We got on very well. He's a nice fella. 3.What's the best bit of career advice you could give Shane Boyzone? I wouldn't give him any. He knows what he's doing and off he goes enjoying himself - I hope. We try to stay away from each others's careers. It can be dangerous to get involved. I mean, I follow them and I watch them but I don't comment - it's not my business. 4.If your solocareer ended tomorrow, how would you survive? I love what I do so that idea scares me all the time. It scares me a lot! I'd be lost without music so I'd have to play in a band or do something. I would be OK financially, though. Oh, I'd survive! PRIVATE LIFE 1.How often do you say "I love you"? I say it to Yvonne and Jack all time. Every day, 20 or 30 times. All the time. The thing is, I don't get sick of saying it or blase cos I'm still very precious about it. And I mean it. Of course I do, otherwise I wouldn't say it all the time. 2.Love or passion? Discuss. Love lasts forever whereas passion lasts for one night probably - as soon as it's over. But of course, you can feel passion as well as love each other. It's as simple as that really, isn't it? 3.What's the best thing about being a dad? Everything. But when I walk in the door and Jack runs up and gives me a hug, it's a magical feeling. I know from his eyes that he loves me and it's just a beautiful thing. I watch him all the time and he makes me laugh all day. He's very funny and he knows it. He is , he's as mad as a brush! 4.Will there be a Ronan number three? We're due a baby this month - please God - and hopefully, we'll have another one in the future. We take each day as it comes so we'll wait, have this baby and see how we feel. Jack will be two when the baby's born so we've already had a two-year gap there you know. I think Jack will be jealous at first, but he'll get used to it. It will make him less spoilt. I do try not to spoil him but it's hard. 5.Whose bad habits has Jack picked up? He hasn't got any yet to be honest with you. He's a little bit spoilt which is probably his daddy's fault. No, actually it's probably Yvonne's fault - cos she's not here to defend herself, ha-ha! 6.What do you hope he never does to embarrass himself? I'm sure I peed me pants when I was a kid in class. I can't really remember - maybe it was more than once. Getting the spare class pants was very embarrassing. You had to wear them and they go ruffle, ruffle in your pants when you walk, ha-ha. But then everyone has probably had that happen so he probably will, too. 7.Who does he most look like? I think he's starting to look a little like me. He has ny nose. Saying that. though, people have said before that Yvonne and I actually look quite similar. It's cool. 8.When was the last time that you cooked dinner for the family? It's been a long time since I cooked dinner. I can't even remember. I cook when I'm by myself i the house and stuff, but proper dinner....Does that include pizzas and things? I'm really boring with food. On my own I just put a lot of tuna and sweetcorn in a bowl with mayonnaise and eat that. Can you tell I'm into bit-time convenience food? 9.Do you ever see your old school mates? I haven't seen them in a long time. I'd love to see all the boys again - they're a good bunch, a real good, good crowd. I don't even have their numbers anymore. I know that I could pop in when I'm back home. I will find them at some stage. PUBLIC LIFE 1.When was the last time you saw all the other Boyzone lads? It's been a while now. The last one I saw was Mikey at the Albert Hall and I haven't seen the rest of the boys for a good couple of weeks. We're good mates and we have a laugh. 2.Do you regret getting angry with the trick or treaters? No, I don't regret it at all. I should have given them a few slaps. Good job I didn't! I wasn't even at the door - although the press stories said I was. Yvonne was at the door, pregnant and holding Jack cos he wanted to see the kids all dressed up in their outrfits. But then these kids started chucking eggs! I was upstairs at the time, but when I heard this going on I chased them and made them clean it up! 3.What have you done with your infamous pair pf curtain-fabric trousers? I don't wear any of them anymore. My taste has changed! I hate following trends but I used to be so into all of that and I was so driven by it - and I hated it. I used to be in the clothes shops and I would be buying whatever was on the shelves. You know everything: Gucci and Dolce & Gabanna. I'd wear it and love it - but I looked like a sap! Now I just like jeans and denim jackets, leather trousers and denim jackets. I'm not into what's going on with fashion trends. 4.Have you kept the dodgy outfit you wore for Boyzone's first all-dancing, no-singing TV appearance on the Late Late Show? That first one? No. It's so long ago but it totally haunts me, ha-ha. I can laugh about it now because we have become successful, but can you imagine if we hadn't. How embarrassing! I'm laughing now but I wasn't then. We were all a bunch of lunatics, I have to say.
