RONAN KEATING REVEALS HOW AN EMOTIONAL TRIP TO GHANA HAS CHANGED HIM
As the former lead singer of phenomenally successful band Boyzone,
and now as a solo artist, Ronan Keating has travelled all over the world.
But never has he experienced such an emotional journey as his recent trip
to Ghana.

Returning to his native Dublin from the searing heat of the West African
nation last week, the singer spoke of his determination to raise
awareness of the plight of thousands of impoverished farmers who have lost
their livelihood because of rigid trade practises. “I have come back from
Ghana with anger and confusion and a desire to make a difference,” Ronan
told Hello! in an exclusive interview.

Ronan在特別專訪中對Hello!雜誌這麼說著
At 27, he is no stranger to charity. In 1998, not long after his beloved
mother’s untimely death from breast cancer, he set up the Marie Keating
Foundation to raise funds for screening services and awareness in Ireland.
Then, last year, he walked 400 miles from Northern Ireland across the
country to The Old Head of Kinsale in Cork to raise ￡80,000 for the charity,
now run by his sister Linda, 35.
今年27歲的他 對於慈善活動並不陌生 在1998年 就在他摯愛的母親
Marie Keating死於乳癌不久後 他成立了Marie Keating基金會提供婦女掃描服務
並且在愛爾蘭當地喚起人們對乳癌的注意
去年 他從北愛爾蘭走了400英里(差不多比高雄來回台北的距離少一點而已)
縱貫英國到都柏林柯克的肯瑟之首(當地的一個高地)
募得八萬英鎊作為基金會所用 現在這個基金會由他35歲的姐姐Linda運作
感想: 我比較好奇的是400英里他老兄走了多久...
