關於Stephen與Polydor的事好像偏向證實的方向去了
有網友宣稱在Polydor的官方網站上看到下列聲明--

Unfortunately the reports in the media this weekend are indeed true. Stephen
Gately has left Polydor records as of today 4/6/01. The decision was made
after discussions between officials at Polydor, SAFE management and Stephen
himself. It was agreed that Stephen's solo career has not made the impact
that we were all hoping for. Stephen has said he would like to remain in the
music business and is currently weighing up his options. We would like to
thank all of Stephen's fans for supporting him over the
years and hope that you will continue to support him in the future. Stephen
remains under the management of SAFE Management who will continue to help
with his career. We would like to thank Stephen for all the work he has done
with us over the the years and we are sure you will join us in wishing
Stephen the best of luck in the future. Stephen will hopefully be issuing a
statement in the next few days.
