Dede reveals Chelsea contact

Borussia Dortmund defender Dede has claimed that Chelsea approached him
over a move, but seem to have shelved their interest after learning that
he would struggle to gain a work permit.
The Brazilian left back revealed he has held two meetings with Chelsea over
a possible move to Stamford Bridge.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is in the market for a new left back and he has
been linked with the likes of Ashley Cole, Gianluca Zambrotta and Asier
Del Horno
The Premiership champions have also enquired about Dede, but it appears they
have cooled their interest.
The 27-year-old revealed several other clubs along with Chelsea had also
enquired about him.
"Galatasaray and Spartak Moscow wanted me while with Stuttgart there were
only indirect informal conversations," Dede told Bild.
“I had been in contact with them (Chelsea) twice, the first one was one-
and-a-half months ago and the second one about two weeks ago.
“In order to play in England I must have played in three quarters of
Brazil’s international games or hold an EU-passport and I can’t offer that,
but Chelsea claimed that they’d look for ways to naturalise me in Germany.
"Chelsea wanted to call me again - and inform Dortmund about their interest,
but I haven’t heard anything from them ever since,” explained Dede.
Dede only signed a new deal at the Westfalenstadion in January to keep him
at the club until 2007, but due to the club's precarious financial position
they would be forced to listen to any serious offers for the player.
The 27-year-old would theoretically qualify for a German passport after
spending the last seven years in Germany
