Fabio eyes Sporting stay

Fabio Rochemback has told Barcelona that he wants to stay on loan in
Portugal at Sporting instead of returning to Camp Nou this summer when
his current loan deal expires.

The Brazilian international moved to the Catalan club in 2001 and enjoyed
two seasons at Barca before the arrival of Frank Rijkaard, who decided he
was not part of his plans.

Joan Laporta's administration loaned out several players who did not have
European residency in the summer of 2004, with Rochemback being sent on a
two-year loan to Sporting.

But now the former Internacional Porto Alegre midfielder has said that he
wishes to stay in Portugal for the remaining year of his deal with Barcelona.

"I have a contract with Barcelona until 2006," he explained. "I know that I
grew as both a person and a player when I was there, but I have no desire to
go back.

員或是一般人，但我真的沒有太多的渴望回去那兒。"
"I like Portugal a lot and things are going well here and I want to stay
here for at least one more season."

Rochemback has enjoyed a successful spell in Lisbon, including an appearance
in the Uefa Cup final last week when the Portuguese side were beaten by
CSKA Moscow.

But the 24-year-old believes that he has more chance of playing regularly
at Sporting than he would have at Barca and knows that staying put will
increase his chances of an international recall.

"Hopefully I can earn a place in the Brazil squad," he said. "I played well

"But then I picked up an injury and lost my place. I had to begin all over
again, but I have never felt discouraged."

Barcelona also have to make a decision on the futures of Juan Roman Riquelme
and Javier Saviola, who are due to return to the club this summer from
Villarreal and Monaco respectively.
巴塞隆納今年夏天同時也必須決定 Riquelme 和 Saviola 未來何去何從，這兩位阿根廷
人的租借期也在夏季到期，屆時他們將分別從 Villareal 和 Monaco 回來。
