Javier confirms Corinthians move

River Plate midfielder Javier Mascherano has confirmed he has reached an
agreement to play for Brazilian outfit Corinthians.
Corinthians have emerged as major players in the transfer market due to the
backing of sports investment company MSI.
MSI said last week that a deal had been struck with one of Argentina's most
gifted players and Mascherano has now confirmed the news.
"I have reached an agreement and signed for playing at Corinthians in the
second half of 2005," said Mascherano.
River will rake in some $15 million when the transfer goes through, while it
is unlikely to be Corinthians' last foray into the transfer market.
