Helton set for return

Brazilian goalkeeper Helton, who is currently playing at Uniao de Leria in
Portugal, could be set for a return to his homeland with Corinthians.
The player's agent Marival Gomes has suggested that Vasco, Fluminense, Santos
and Atletico PR are also trailing his client, but that at present Corinthians
remain favourites for his signature.
"If Helton returns to Brazil the only place where he can play is at Corinthians
,'' said Gomes.
''That's the only club that has the same conditions as the European clubs.
"Corinthians have already made an offer and I have showed it to the president
of Leiria Joao Bartolomeu. I think that they will be in touch in the next
hours and then they will get in touch with me.
"The offer that Corinthians has done is as interesting as the ones that three
European teams that I can't name have also done.
''The most important thing is that the player will not have to refuse to
anything in his personal contract. That's why I say that Corinthians is the
only team in Brazil that has the same conditions as the European teams.''
