There are no invincible teams in the world any more. Anyone can beat anyone
else. Mexico against Brazil, Argentina against Brazil and Ecuador have beaten
Argentina too. Brazil are a very attack-minded team. But even attacking teams
have to know how to defend.
Carlos Alberto Parreira (Brazil coach)
Mexico were very good. They caused us a lot of problems with their fast
passes on the ground. And they were surprisingly good in defence. We hardly
ever created four against four situations. There were three or four Mexicans
around the ball all the time, and they were very resolute in defence. That's
why we ran into trouble. You could see we were pretty exhausted today.
Mexico were physically much better prepared than we were. That made the
difference in the second half. We're not thinking about a potential (semi-
final) meeting with Germany yet, because our next opponents are Japan and
that will be a difficult enough match. We'll be making three or four changes
to the line-up for this match, because we have plenty of quality players.

至於巴西教練 Parreira 對於比賽失利似乎不怎麼看重、在乎
他點出墨西哥出色的防守是這場比賽巴西失利的主因之一
另外墨西哥在體能上的準備也顯然比巴西充足
最後 Parreira 說他可能會在面對日本之戰更換 3～4 個球員上場磨練
他相信這次陣中所有的巴西球員都相當優秀（言下之意不把日本看在眼裡？！）
雖然日本之戰絕對不輕鬆但他有信心！
