今天在圓山大飯店, 國際密碼學會議的豪華晚宴上...
jmc: "Did you go to the ICISC conference in Korea?"
Helger Lipmaa: "Yes. Why?"
jmc: "A friend of mine asked me to say hello to you."
Helger Lipmaa: "Who is your friend?"
jmc: "Bo-Yin Yang. He presented a paper over there. I'm the other author
of that paper."
Helger Lipmaa: "......" (這位來自芬蘭的密碼學專家努力回憶, 誰是楊柏因.)
jmc: "He told me you shared a bread with him."
Helger Lipmaa: "Oh! I remember now. He is tall and very talkative!"
哇哈哈哈, 笑死我了. 甚至連和滷教授只有一面之雅的芬蘭人, 都說滷教授話太多.
我再和 Helger Lipmaa 聊了幾分鐘, 就去會場另一處找 Jason Gower, 把這件事講
給他聽. Jason Gower 和我一樣笑到不行. :D
不過有件事我覺得很奇怪: Helger Lipmaa 很壯, 吃得有夠多, 每盤食物都堆得像
座山. 他居然願意和滷教授分享一個麵包吃? @@

陳董, 我是說我和 Lipmaa 先生同桌吃麵包 ("break bread with"), 不是和他分
麵包吃 ("share bread with") 也不是搶他的麵包 ("partake of x's bread" 或
"take bread from")。想繼續看滷教授英語教室每日一字請下捲, 反之請跳出...

Talkative 是話多沒錯, 但是英文這個詞單用的時候, 是指 `健談', 表示這個人
`喜歡對話', 並不是 garrulous 或是 voluble (後者才是單純的『愛講話』; 前
者是指『會令人有點煩的多話』), 芬蘭人跟瑞典挪威丹麥人一樣, 英文好得很,
所以請陳董不要自做聰明的加上個『太』字, 謝謝您的合作。 :P
