寶貝蛋 Malcolm Brachman 太厲害了, 他的隊伍居然把第一種子 Nickell 隊淘汰。
今年的前八號種子只有兩個不爭氣 ---- 第一種子和第二種子。:)
不過 Nickell 隊還是有進步。前年 Vanderbilt 盃, Nickell 隊輸在八強賽; 去年
Vanderbilt 盃, Nickell 隊在三十二強賽就掰掰, 被 Marshall Miles 的隊伍打敗。
所以今年還比去年多贏了一場。
這實在是很邪門的一件事。技術無法戰勝宿命? Bob Hamman 和 Vanderbilt 犯沖?
年度四大賽 Vanderbilt, Spingold, Reisinger, I.T.T. 無論 Nickell 隊這幾年
在另外三項大賽成績有多好, 就是沒辦法拿下 Vanderbilt 盃。
命中注定? 奇怪的命運。:)

Brachman knocks off #1 Nickell in Vandy
The team captained by Malcolm Brachman staged a 20-IMP rally in the
final session to upset the #1 Nick Nickell team in the Vanderbilt
Knockout Teams yesterday.
BRACHMAN (Eddie Wold; Billy Miller-Curtis Cheek; Geoff Hampson-Eric
Greco) never trailed by much- 12 IMPs at the end of the first
session, 8 at the half and 7 at the three-quarter mark -- but they
refused to go away and won the last session 36-16 to claim a 116-103
victory.
Playing for NICKELL were Richard Freeman; Bob Hamman-Paul Soloway;
Jeff Meckstroth-Eric Rodwell. Soloway, playing on the Richard
Schwartz team, won the last two Vanderbilts. Hamman hasn't won the
Vanderbilt since 1973.
