Soloway is 1998 Player of the Year
Paul Soloway's fifth-place finish in the Reisinger Board-a-Match Teams
was good enough to make him 1998 Player of the Year, which goes to the
ACBL member who earns the most masterpoints in nationally rated events
during a calendar year. He won 676.34.
Norway's Geir Helgemo, winner of the Reisinger, was a close second at
663.38, followed by Lew Stansby with 654.91. Stansby's Reisinger team
finished fourth.
He needed a first-, second- or third-place finish to over-take Soloway.
