Increasing the odds Sometimes your opponents give away too much information in the auction and you can use that knowledge to increase your chances in the play. That was the case for Mike Passell and Michael Seamon, winners of Open Pairs I. This deal is from the second final session: Dlr: East S K 10 9 6 Vul: Both H K 8 2 D A Q 10 8 C J 4 S 7 S A J 8 2 H Q 10 9 H A J 7 5 4 D K J 9 3 2 D 6 5 C K 10 8 6 C 9 5 S Q 5 4 3 H 6 3 D 7 4 C A Q 7 3 2 WEST NORTH EAST SOUTH - Passell - Seamon - - Pass Pass Pass 1D 2D (1) Pass 2H Pass Pass 2S (2) All Pass (1)Majors. (2) Shows four spades and five clubs. "That's what I thought he (Seamon) had," said Passell, "and he did." East-West cashed two rounds of hearts and Seamon ruffed the third round. He played a diamond to dummy's queen and cashed the ace. Next he led a club to his ace and a club toward dummy. West fell from grace, ducking his king, and Seamon won dummy's jack. Seamon conceded two spade tricks and claimed nine tricks for plus 140 -- and all the matchpoints. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- < 作者: jmc (貪玩的小孩) 看板: BridgeClub 時間: Tue Mar 23 18:49:08 1999 狡猾的 Michael Seamon 打得好. 不過最讓人佩服的是居然約定仔細到那個2S是四張黑桃帶五張梅花, 而且真的用到了. :) -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.twbbs.org) ◆ From: ms10.hinet.net
