所謂的柏林時期(Berlin Period)，是指 Bowie 跟製作人 Brian Eno
移居柏林的一系列創作，包括 1977 的 Low、Heros 和 1979 的 Lodgers。
前兩張專輯更是常入圍各種百大專輯榜單，尤其是 Low，影響力可說
無遠弗屆。在音樂風格上，Bowie 大量的擁抱合成器，Kraftwerk 的
影響可說是十分顯而易見。
另外，Uncut 也找來了樂壇大堆頭，描述 Bowie 柏林時期對他們的影響。
包括 Martin Gore(Depeche Mode)、Stephen Morris(New Order)、
Philip Glass、Moby、Frank Black(已解散的 Pixies 主唱)、Gary Numan、
Brett Anderson(Suede)、Siouxsie Sioux(Siouxsie & the Banshee、
Creatures)、Richard H.Kirk(Cabaret Voltaire)。
以下僅節錄部分重點(其實看的出來，很多人對 Bowie 深表敬佩)
Martin Gore 說
"I like Bowie in general, but I really loved Low and Heros."
Serphen Morris 表示
"When it came out, I thought Low was the sound of future."
Moby 接著說
"It would be hard to think of any artist's album that have
affected me more than Bowie's Berlin Albums."
(PS: Moby 最喜歡的是 Station to Station、Heros 跟 Low)
Frank Black 也說
"All those Berlin albums by Bowie and Iggy Pop, they're all
kind dark and brooding and also very arty and poetic."
(PS:Iggy Pop 單飛後的前兩張專輯 The Idiot 跟 Lust for Life
都是 Bowie 在柏林時期的 1977 年擔綱製作，後者更被譽為
Iggy Pop 單飛後得最佳專輯)
Brett Anderson 則說
"Bowie and Eno gave me a strong sense of ambition for the band."
"The stufff Eno did with Bowie - Low,Heroes and Lodger -
is probably my favourite."
