beautiful video..and chord www.music365.co.uk/autocontent/review_49114.htm SINGLE OF THE WEEK DOVES 蒄The Man Who Told Everything?(Heavenly) Obviously trying to wring a few more sales out of debut album Lost Souls? The Man Who Told Everything is Doves acoustic, orchestral, anthemic schtick which, if people can get beyond the straining, strangulated vocal should get them back on the radio and into the record collections of middle brow punters who consider Oasis the first and last word in subversion. But you feel Doves have missed a trick with Lost Souls? as Were It Comes? and ise should have seen the light of day as singles and although this is vastly superior to its leaden predecessor Catch The Sun you've never really convinced it their natural sound. With their dance pedigree and Verve spaciness, Doves are beautiful when they're big - fiddly folk doesn't quite wash somehow. Still, worth purchasing for the Roddy Frame-like B-side, the wankily titled our Shadow Lay Across My Life and a couple of versions of iresuite that have been squeezed through the production mangle more than a few times. 7/10 Watch the video in full on 56k, 100k or 300k pnm://real-g2.netcom.net.uk/football365/dovesvid3-56.rm -- "The English Motorway System is beautiful and strange."
