Adorable were a British guitar-driven rock band of the 1990s,
who were associated with the shoegazing movement.
They formed in 1991 in coventry, UK and consisted of band members

Piotr Fijalkowski (vocals, guitar),
Robert Dillam (guitar),
Wil (bass),
Kevin Gritton (drums).

They signed to creation records in 1992 and released their first single
"Sunshine Smile" in the same year. The single was NME's single of the week
and stayed in the charts for some time after its release.

The band was surrounded in a lot of hype,
but they never really grasped the public's imagination and disbanded
after two albums, "Against Perfection"(1993) and "Fake"(1994).
In their early days the band were connected with two other bands
who went on to much greater things - Suede and The Verve).
After the break-up, Fijalkowski went on and formed a band called Polak.

"The best of 92-94" was released in 2008 on Cherry Red Records.

A brit-pop shoegaze band. I Like it !

我覺得他們是一組很棒的樂團 但是在當時並沒有得到太多的注目
終至曇花一現實屬可惜了點 也是Creation Records旗下的
典型的不出名卻相當優秀的例子

事實上他們的音樂是shoegaze融合後來我們所說的brit-pop風格的
只不過當時在英國的音樂圈還在一股瞪鞋運動的風潮裡
brit-pop的運動尚未成熟 所以大多數還是將其歸在瞪鞋的範疇裡
所以如果你聆聽他們的音樂會發現跟一些shoegaze老團有很大的出入
不像他們那麼貼近地dream pop 反倒是有些英式流行搖滾的影子
我很喜歡主唱的歌聲 有時適時的神經質 狂野而收放自如
和聲線後面那些搶耳的吉他音牆噪音 很適宜地襯飾在一起

這張曾在後搖版分享過 不過實在好聽 值得再分享一次

其實我覺得他們的作品不輸給同期的像Ride
如果當初繼續發表作品 說不定現在也是經典團了
又說不定可以像the verve那樣 轉型brit-pop且獲得商業上的成功...
