At the start of this record, If someone had told me we would have been
selling out shows in England, Scotland, Japan and Australia, as well as
playing great gigs in new places such as Korea and Taiwan, then I would
have been overjoyed. Things have changed dramatically in our field
since we were away and we had big expectations for Strength In Numbers.
But to simply be able to do what we love and still reach so many people
with our music makes all the hardships well worth it. Seeing some of
the same faces from 2002 and so many new faces that have joined us has
made us feel like we still mean something to a lot of people.
The recent tours of Scotland, England and Japan have left The Music
feeling confident as we head into a period of writing new music. We
couldn't have ended the year and the album in better style. For your
support and patience we are very grateful. The way new songs like
Strength in Numbers and Drugs have become loved like Getaway and Long
Road, and the way songs like The Spike have become such a big part of
our set, means our people have evolved with us. We plan to test
ourselves even more in the future.
For a lot of bands things change and their focus shifts to goals away
from the sound they're making; whether it's making money, being 'bigger
than U2', hanging out at celebrity parties and getting trashed at
awards ceremonies, it's just not about music anymore. For a while we
almost got sucked into this, we were maybe chasing success instead of
making the sound we wanted to and that we felt in our guts. I can
honestly say that coming out of this album we feel more for our art
than I think we have ever done. Our aim is to leave our mark and make
our times memorable. We can help do that best by writing an amazing new
album and with our live show giving our people more nights to remember,
for years to come.

So far looks like more bands are cooking for early next year round.
Should be sure exciting if its happaning.
