Record Store Day is a global event boasting the participation
of more than 1,000 independent record stores worldwide in
recognition and celebration of the profound impact indie music
retail has had on the music you hear today.
For the second year in a row the onsite music store will be
run by the southwest’s biggest and best independent record
store Zia Record Exchange(www.ziarecords.com). Come by to say
hi and support independent record stores.
In addition to the confirmed in-store signings, with more to
be announced over the next week, some incredible exclusive
products will be available for the special day.
Highlights include Elvis Costello and the Attractions 7", Ani
DiFranco "Record Store Day" Live @ Bull Moose CD, the Devo
12", John Lennon 7" box-set which includes the tracks
"Mother," "Imagine" and "Watching The Wheels," as well as a
Black Lips 12" and a Bruce Springsteen 7".
Them Crooked Vultures will release a 10" picture disc on April
17, which contains "Mind Eraser, No Chaser", one of the most
popular tracks from their self-titled debut album, with a live
version of "Highway One," (live from Sydney) and "Vulture
Speak," an interview with the band.
Queens of the Stone Age is also releasing a Record Store Day
piece, "Feel Good Hit of the Summer EP". This is a first
-time release in the US.
Fans can expect more unique Record Store Day pieces from a
diverse array of artists such as Sonic Youth, TV on the Radio,
Rolling Stones, Devo, The Hold Steady, LCD Soundsystem, Tom
