: 念佛法門
先進找尋經文根據之用心令人敬佩,小弟亦分享所見之經文。
在巴利藏中亦見憶念世尊之功效,簡言之有三,
一曰:無懼。二曰:淨心。
三曰:諸念處為通往涅槃之修行方法,憶念世尊為其一。
惟值得注意的是,巴利英譯本對應元亨寺中譯本之「念」一字,
使用的是「Recollect」或「Reflect」,而非「Iterate」、「Recite」或「Speak」,
Recollect一詞為記憶、回想,Reflect一詞為深思之意。
據此精確以言,念似不等同於唸,供諸先進酌參。

一、無懼:SN 11.3 2,相應部經典 帝釋相應 (北傳類似經文為雜阿含九八一經)
中譯:元亨寺 通妙
英譯:Bhikkhuni Uppalavanna
諸比丘!我亦語如是:「汝等或往森林,或於樹下,或入空屋而起毛髮豎立之
恐怖、戰慄者,其時當念我!彼世尊是應供、等正覺、明行足、善逝、世間解、無
上師、調御丈夫、天人師、佛、世尊。」
Bhikkhus, I say thus, gone to the forest, to the root of a tree, to an empty
house, if fear and hairs standing on end seize you, that moment reflect on
me. ßThat Blessed One is worthy, rightfully enlightened, is endowed with
knowledge and conduct, well gone, knower of the worlds, is the incomparable
tamer of those to be tamed, is Teacher for gods and men, enlightened and
blessed.û
諸比丘!汝等若憶念我者,當可去除其起毛髮豎立之恐怖、戰慄。
Bhikkhus, when reflecting on me, if there be fear and hairs standing on end,
it disappears.
二、淨心:
(一)AN3.70 增支部經典 三集
中譯:葉慶春
英譯:Thanissaro Bhikkhu
毘舍佉!於世間之中,聖弟子隨念如來,
"There is the case where the disciple of the noble ones recollects the
Tathagata, thus:
如是彼世尊是應供、正自覺者、明行具足、善逝、世間解、無上、調御丈夫者、天人師、
覺者、世尊。
'Indeed, the Blessed One is worthy and rightly self-awakened, consummate in
knowledge & conduct, well-gone, an expert with regard to the world,
unexcelled as a trainer for those people fit to be tamed, the Teacher of
divine & human beings, awakened, blessed.'
隨念如來之彼心是淨化,並生歡喜,所有心之染污即為所斷。
As he is recollecting the Tathagata, his mind is calmed, and joy arises; the
defilements of his mind are abandoned,
毘舍佉!猶如污之頭可由修治而清淨。
just as when the head is cleansed through the proper technique.
毘舍佉!又如何而受污之頭可由修治而清淨耶?
And how is the head cleansed through the proper technique?
是緣於煉粉,緣於香泥,緣於水,又緣於順應之人力。
Through the use of cosmetic paste & clay & the appropriate human effort.
毘舍佉!如是而受污之頭可由修治而清淨。
This is how the head is cleansed through the proper technique.
毘舍佉!正如是,染污之心是可由修治而清淨。
In the same way, the defiled mind is cleansed through the proper technique.
毘舍佉!又如何而染污之心可由修治而清淨耶?
And how is the defiled mind cleansed through the proper technique?
毘舍佉!於世間之中,聖弟子隨念如來:如是彼世尊是……乃至…天人師、覺者、世尊。
There is the case where the disciple of the noble ones recollects the
Tathagata...
如此隨念如來之彼心即淨化而生歡喜,於是所有心之染污即為所斷。
As he is recollecting the Tathagata, his mind is cleansed, and joy arises;
the defilements of his mind are abandoned.
(二)AN 11.12,增支部經典 第十一集
中譯:郭哲彰
英譯:Thanissaro Bhikkhu
摩訶男!此處,汝當憶念如來,曰:『如是,彼世尊是應供、正等覺、明行足、善逝、世
間解、無上士、調御丈夫、天人師、佛、世尊也』。
There is the case where you recollect the Tathagata: 'Indeed, the Blessed One
is worthy and rightly self-awakened, consummate in knowledge & conduct,
well-gone, an expert with regard to the world, unexcelled as a trainer for
those people fit to be tamed, the Teacher of divine & human beings, awakened,
blessed.'
摩訶男!聖弟子憶念如來之時,心不纏於貪欲、心不纏於瞋恚、心不纏於愚癡,其時,依
如來而心正直也。
At any time when a disciple of the noble ones is recollecting the Tathagata,
his mind is not overcome with passion, not overcome with aversion, not
overcome with delusion. His mind heads straight, based on the Tathagata.
摩訶男!聖弟子若心正直,則得義明、得法明、得法所引之歡悅;
And when the mind is headed straight, the disciple of the noble ones gains a
sense of the goal, gains a sense of the Dhamma, gains joy connected with the
Dhamma.
若歡悅,則喜生;若意喜,則身輕安也;若身輕安,則受樂;若樂,心則得定。
In one who is joyful, rapture arises. In one who is rapturous, the body grows
calm. One whose body is calmed experiences ease. In one at ease, the mind
becomes concentrated.
摩訶男!故曰:聖弟子在不平等之眾生中,得平等而住;在瞋恚之眾生中,無瞋而住;具
足聞法,修習念佛。
Of one who does this, Mahanama, it is said: 'Among those who are out of tune,
the disciple of the noble ones dwells in tune; among those who are malicious,
he dwells without malice; having attained the stream of Dhamma, he develops
the recollection of the Buddha.'
摩訶男!此念佛者,行亦當修習、住亦當修習、坐亦當修習、臥亦當修習、作事業亦當修
習、住於子等紛亂之家亦當修習。
"Mahanama, you should develop this recollection of the Buddha while you are
walking, while you are standing, while you are sitting, while you are lying
down, while you are busy at work, while you are resting in your home crowded
with children.
三、諸念處為通往涅槃之修行方法,憶念世尊為其一。
AN 1.296,增支部經典 一集 第十六一法品
中譯:葉慶春
英譯:Sister Upalavanna
諸比丘!有一法,修習多修習,能起一向厭背、離、貪、滅、寂靜、通覺、涅 槃。云何為
一法?是念佛。
Bhikkhus, if you develop and make much this one thing, it invariably leads to
weariness, cessation, appeasement, realization and extinction. What is it? It
is recollecting the Enlightened One.
