in Milan was deepened by the news that Oliver Kahn has torn the muscles
in his right thigh.
The 33 year-old will definitely miss Saturday's Bundesliga encounter
with Hanover 96, and there is a huge question mark over his fitness for
next Tuesday's crunch Champions' League trip to Deportivo La Coruna.
Kahn sustained the painful injury shortly after the half-time interval.
"I twisted my knee as I landed and suddenly felt a stabbing pain," the
Bayern and Germany keeper said after the match.
"We'll have to wait and see how it develops. There's still some bruising.
But maybe I'll be fit again in a week," Kahn declared, hopeful of returning
to action in Spain.
Kahn's enforced departure meant an eighth European appearance in Bayern
colours for Stefan Wessels. But the 23 year-old was powerless to prevent
Filippo Inzaghi's 63rd minute winner.
