Lucio is staying with Bayer 04
Lucio’s personal press statement on the current speculations
1. I have received numerous offers from big European clubs in the past few
weeks. Both Juventus and AS Roma were among the clubs intersted.
2. My agent Sandro Becker was the only one who talked to the clubs and that
goes for AS Roma, too. At no time did Sandro Backer or myself sign or
promise the president of AS Roma Mr Sensi that I would join them.
3. If I had been looking for a transfer this season then I would have signed
for Juventus who are defending champions in Italy, have qualified for the
Champions League and are one of the best clubs in the world.
4. I have come to the final decision to stay with Bayer 04 Leverkusen for
another year. We have got a strong team and my family and myself feel
very much at home in Germany.
