when Bj顤k was 17, she and her friend Didda, the
poet, decided to get a matching pair of tattoo's on their left
arms. They chose a 1000-year-old rune compass consisting
of specific runes, 'so that I always know where I'm going.
It means I will never get lost in fog, and I never have!", Bj顤k says.

It means she's a viking!
The tatoo is a rune used in her native Iceland to represent the compass.
Bjork has said that she uses the tatoo to provide 'direction' in her life.
