- She's great. Sometimes it feels like me and other female artists in my
age are walking down the path that Madonna chopped out through the
jungle. She has really been a pioneer within popmusic but mostly gets
shit for it. To be honest I never bought any of her records. I have a
hard time imagining someone thinking "Oh, now i am going to have a
terrific night with my Madonna CD". The fine thing about music is that
you can do whatever you want with it. You can play it to your pets, play
it to grandma, do aerobic exercises to it, cry like hell to it... but
this kind of music doesn't feel very emotionally generous. Madonna never
dares to give the listener that stuff that really touches. But that's
not the point either. To me she is, above anything, a fighter of human
rights. Her slogan may be "have more fun", which doesn't sound as
socially correct as "save the whales", but it's extremely important to
all humans.
