HALLE WON'T DO HBO MOVIE Could illness be the reason?
*According to the Hollywood Reporter, Halle Berry will not star in HBO's e
nsemble drama "Lackawanna Blues." She is also an executive producer for the
project.
The report says no reason was given, but noted that because of ill health,
the star was recently forced to miss the movie theater owners' ShoWest
confab in Las Vegas last week. Berry, who is diabetic, was to receive the
Female Star of the Year award.
"Lackawanna Blues," based on actor Ruben Santiago-Hudson's Obie-winning
one-man play of the same name, revolves around on a group of eccentrics at
an all-black rooming house in Lackawanna, New York.
"Law & Order" co-star S. Epatha Merkerson plays their caretaker. The cast
also includes Delroy Lindo, Henry Simmons, Terrence Howard, Macy Gray, Hill
Harper, Thomas Jefferson Byrd, Jeffrey Wright and Rosie Perez.

relevant today.
"And the Motown legacy itself shows how to write great songs and what music
is all about. We need to keep that legacy alive," Gray says.
