The first Future Funk Squad (Glen Nicholls) track surfaced in late 98.
A Nu-Skool breaks crossover track titled 'Shake Down'. This landed cunningly
on the lap of Guy Hatfield (DJ Hyper) at Waxworks, who along with Lee Burridge,
Craig Richards, Way Out West and many others, showed great interest in the
'Squad'. After that came a two track release, 'Sandstorm/Fatal Force'.
This was a darker affair and played by the likes of Subphonic, Rennie Pilgrem,
Tayo to name but a few.
Then came the much sought after remix of the classic house track by Raze,
'Break 4 Love'. This has been causing damage since it's first promo release
back in August 2000 by the likes of the Stanton Warriors, Dee-Kline, Donna Dee,
DJ Hyper, Terminalhead, the list goes on?
This is where Default Records comes in, Glen's own label for Future Funk Squad
outlet. 'Pulse' is the first release and getting great response from the
Breakbeat and Garage world, such as Ez, Freq Nasty, General Midi,
Rennie Pilgrem and many more.
The Funk Squad have recently finished instalment two for Default and in the
process of remixing many other artists and tracks, including Robin S,
'Show Me Love' out soon on promo.
