英國去年甫始新興的muzik type -- 2 Step / UK Garage﹝以下簡稱UKG﹞發展至今，已然
進化為多種類別，走R&B抒情調性的叫2 Step，另一剛猛硬派則以Breakbeat Garage﹝以下
簡稱BBG﹞自居，若言此仍舊混沌，前陣子大紅於rave scene的 Azzido Da Bass
〈Dooms Night﹝Timo Mass rmx﹞〉，耳尖的樂迷可能發現另一更悍之添加MCing混音版本
，此曲除Timo Mass本身的絢麗外，尚添不少rollin之快活；再，由Big Beat大師
Fatboy Slim與沙美女聲Macy Gray合作的〈Demons〉，也蹦出一深邃Garage音響，挾帶
old-school的神氣，與深不可測的闇黑碎拍…這個烹餚審監的BBG大廚組合，
便是Stanton Warriors。
各有近四年DJ / Producer生涯，Stanton Warriors的成員為Dominic B及Mark Yardley；
12歲便玩起唱盤的Dominic B，曾在各大Clubs播放諸如Hip-Hop、Funk和US Garage等音樂
；出人意料的是Mark Yardley在DJing前只是個錄音室的打雜小子，而能人往往困境下誕生
，有空他就這學那學，之後跳至UKG廠「Fifty First Recordings」當Tuff Jam的工程師，
即結識當時正從事A&R的Dominic B，一拍即合，兩人替DJ Scribble
〈Everybody Come On〉﹝取樣Busta Rhymes的〈Gimme Some Mo〉﹞炮製的混音拷片立被
Trance / House奇才Pete Tong發掘， Stanton Warriors年代於是來臨。
一直以黑膠單曲發行的兩位銳盤戰士，終於推出樂團首張rmx album --
《The Stanton Sessions》，當然，不外乎收錄Stanton Warriors的〈Da Virus〉、
〈Right Here〉、〈Da Antidote〉與其眾好友的強片；包括替Basement Jaxx世界名曲
〈Jump N' Shout〉做的remix版；Drum'n'Bass界頭號紳士DJ Zinc的BBG人格Jammin，繼首
張單曲《Hold On》B面〈Distraction〉後，灌入The Streets〈The Streets〉中vocal之
acapella版；有趣在Stanton Warriors將Mr.Reds〈Can You Feel It〉的經典琴聲丟進他
們的intro裡，更好玩的是他們還把貴人DJ Scribble之作〈Everybody Come On〉也疊了進
去；《The Stanton Sessions》也很Breakz／Breakbeat，由Stanton Warriors摘選如
Plump DJs、PMT、Biological和最近在dance scene爆紅的Bushwacka!咪
Renegade Soundwave的〈The Phantom〉還有T-Power專輯《Long Time Dead》中的
〈Runnin〉等聲響後可窺一斑；DNB與UKG的友誼其一為建立在MC之上，經由MC的調味過後
，DJ的set令舞客渾然上癮；這整張BBG的靈魂激素便為Drum'n'Bass界赫赫有名的MC Moose
﹝aka Godfather﹞，Stanton Warriors與Grooverider的口感同樣，添加秘方後，
《The Stanton Sessions》水準與質感已然兼並，不再像樂迷印象中的R&B軟派2 Step，
而絕對是今年度首張最趨於完美的Breakbeat Garage瑰寶。
