LOS ANGELES DODGERS The club is confident RHP Darren Dreifort will be ready
by spring training. If he is, he will add depth at starting pitcher and
represent insurance if RHP Kevin Brown isn't ready. Dreifort missed all of
last season after undergoing his second elbow surgery. He still will have to
earn a spot in the rotation.... Chin Feng-Chen was supposed to be the first
baseman of the future, but he might be moved back to the outfield because he
hasn't looked comfortable at first base. It leaves the team with no
first-base prospects close to being ready for the majors. --Brian Dohn
