CHEN SHINES IN NATIVE COUNTRY - Minor league outfielder Chin-Feng
Chen, recently promoted to the Dodgers' 40-man roster, helped lead
his native Taiwan team to a bronze medal in the recently concluded
16-team World Cup tournament, held in Taiwan. In the bronze medal
game against Japan, Chen accounted for all of Taiwan's runs as he
slugged a two-run homer and a solo round-tripper in the 3-0 triumph.
Overall in 10 tournament contests, Chen hit .429 (15-for-35) with
four home runs and 14 RBI. His 14 runs batted in tied for first among
tournament participants and he led all players with a 1.029 slugging
percentage.
