Billy Eliot reflection:
Billy Eliot is a movie that touches the chords of my heart. I was deeply moved by the story after watching it. For ex
ample, originally Billy's father was on strike; going back to work in the mining area would be difficult for his father to hand
le since it somehow meant his betrayal to his son and friends who joined the strike. However, he decided to retain his job as
a miner resolutely to prepare the expenses acquired for Billy's dancing test. In addition, the way Billy did the tap dance rea
lly caught my attention. I could feel the tempo and the rhythm when listening to the clear and melodious sounds of his tapping
on the floor. Beside the amusement that music and dancing brought me, what impressed me was the space and trust that Billy's
father gave him. Sometimes parents want their children to do exactly as the way they want them to because they don't want thei
r children to waste time on making mistakes. But in my opinion, children have their own interests and potential, we should not
restrict any chances for them to learn and grow. We should give them sufficient space and trust to develop their own abilitie
s and interests. As the Chinese interpretation "舞動人生" goes, the movie stimulates me to think about what my reaction would
be if I were the little boy or little boy's father. It also made me realize that there are unlimited possibilities in life and we should try to develop and explore as much as we can, thus we would get to taste the species of life.
