: After losing 5-3 in the opener, the Yankees managed just two earned runs
: and five hits in 6 2/3 innings against Contreras (3-4). But Wang (2-3)
: pitched seven solid innings to get the win.
: "It's all about Wang today," manager Joe Torre said. "It was a close
: game and he was terrific."

: single in the seventh inning extended a 2-1 lead to 3-1. Derek Jeter
: followed with a triple.

代價則是在第七局兩出局後揮出帶有一分打點的一安, 將比數拉開至3-1. Jeter隨後再補
上一發三安, 追加一分.
: Ninth-inning homers by Melky Cabrera and Jorge Posada made it a relative
: offensive explosion. And later in the inning, Jason Giambi snapped his
: 0-for-20 skid with a single and Hideki Matsui added a two-run single.
: The Yankees took a 2-0 lead with two unearned runs in the third inning
: -- just the third time in 52 innings they had rallied for more than one
: run.
第九局則是靠著Cabrera和Posada的兩發陽春砲喚醒了洋基的炮火. 隨後大吉揮出一壘安
打, 總算終止個人連續20打數0安打的紀錄. 松井補上一支安打幫助洋基再添兩分.
洋基率先在第三局取得兩分 (非自責分), 而這只是他們在最近52局進攻中, 第三次出現
單局得分超過一分的情況.
: With one out, Chicago shortstop Juan Uribe bobbled Derek Jeter's
: grounder and then threw wide of first. After a four-pitch walk of
: Giambi, Alex Rodriguez lined out.
: Then Hideki Matsui, given the green light to swing at a 3-0 pitch, hit a
: liner to center. It would have been an out, but Darin Erstad broke in
: before going back on the ball, and it sailed over his head for a two-run
: double.

: Mackowiak's two-out single to center, which drove in Erstad. Cabrera
: threw out Pablo Ozuna going from first to third to end the inning.
: With Johnny Damon resting in the night game, Bobby Abreu batted leadoff
: for the second time this year and Giambi hit third for the fourth time.
: Rain caused the night game to be delayed by one hour, 15 minutes before
: it started at 8:26 p.m. local time.
小王則是在四局下半遭遇危機, 不過他連續用飛, 飛, 滾三個出局數化解了無人出局一二
壘有人的狀況. 六局下半的劇本也相當類似, 只不過這次小王在兩出局後被Mackowiak敲
出安打掉了唯一的一分, Cabrera的雷射肩則是將大膽挑戰三壘的Ozuna阻殺, 幫助小王結
束這個半局.
由於大門休息的緣故, 使得阿布在本季第二次擔任開路先鋒的角色, 而大吉則是第四次打
第三棒.
這場比賽因雨延後了一小時十五分鐘開打.
: The Yankees lost to rookie John Danks in the day game, making them 3-7
: when the opposing team starts a lefty -- 0-5 on the road.
: "I can't figure it out," Rodriguez said.
: "It seems like every lefty we've faced, they've been extremely
: aggressive. ... That's one of our main sources of offense, is walking
: and being patient and the popping the three-run homer or two-run double.
: With the walk taken away, it kind of forces us into swinging the bats a
: little more."
: Danks (2-4) gave up two runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings.
: Mussina, meanwhile, was sluggish -- in part because Tuesday's rainout
: forced him to pitch on six days' rest.
: The Yankees came back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to tie the game, but the
: White Sox scored three times in the sixth as Mussina (2-2) tired. The
: rally started with a solo homer by A.J. Pierzynski, who is 12-for-30
: (.400) against Mussina in his career.
: "It wasn't really fun," Mussina said. "It was a lot of work and it was a
: fight from the beginning.
: "It's just not a comfortable way to pitch when you don't have a pitch to
: go to and you don't feel like you know where it's going."
