Wang's gem lifts Yanks By NY Daily News Wednesday, June 6th 2007, 10:09 PM CHICAGO - Chien-Ming Wang gave the New York Yankees something they hadn't had last summer: a nine-inning complete game. Wang pitched a five-hitter, and Alex Rodriguez and Bobby Abreu keyed the Yankees' reviving offense in a 5-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night. Wang (5-4) struck out four and walked one, throwing 104 pitches in New York's first nine-inning complete game since he beat Tampa Bay with a two-hit shutout last July 28. Wang won for the fourth time in five starts, throwing the third complete game of his career. New York (26-31) has won five of seven following its terrible start, and the Yankees got some good news before the game when Roger Clemens said he was on track to make his season debut against Pittsburgh on Saturday in New York. Chicago (26-29) has lost nine of 11 and is fading fast in the AL Central. Rodriguez, his average back up to .303, hit a two-run single off the left-field wall in a four-run third inning. Abreu, who has 10 hits in his last 21 at-bats, added a solo homer in the eighth. Former Yankee Javier Vazquez (3-4) allowed four runs and seven hits in six innings. -- Live life as you see fit.
