大都會官網的消息~ 僅略譯小王的部份 \^.^ ================= Hernandez makes return to Bronx 06/16/2007 10:15 PM ET By Anthony DiComo / MLB.com One step forward and one step back later, the Mets are right back where they started. Things aren't as bad as they were -- Friday's win at least planted the impression that the ice-cold Mets could beat the red-hot Yankees -- but they're certainly no better. It took just a half-day after that victory for all of early June's bad habits to seep back, dragging the Mets back down to where they were. If Friday's Subway Series opener was a sign that times might be changing, Saturday's follow-up bluntly set everything back to where it was. The Yankees are still red-hot, the Mets still ice-cold heading into Sunday's finale. "It's an important game, just because we're scuffling a little bit, and they're playing well," said Mets third baseman David Wright. "This is a good test for us to go in there and play well." So after Friday's false start, the Mets are still searching for the seam to turn things around. Sunday night might not seem like the best time -- not against a Yankees team that currently seems as close to invincible as can be -- but the next two weeks don't hold many weak spots with upcoming series against the Twins, A's, Cardinals and Phillies. The Mets don't have to be completely flat entering that stretch, but in order to inflate, they'll first need to take Sunday's game amid the glitz of a Subway Series finale. "It's not going to be easy, because they got a very good team over there," said Mets shortstop Jose Reyes. "But we've got a chance to win the series." And though it's not the biggest game they're likely to see this year, it won't hurt for the Mets to have one of the league's best big-game pitchers towing the load. Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez enters Sunday's game against his first Major League team riding the high of one of the best stretches of his career but feeling the low of an outing that ranked closer to his worst. So it's been for most of the Mets, bolting out of the gate only to trip over that success come June. And now El Duque -- and the Mets -- have a chance to turn the corner. To do so would mean to fight through the sinkerballs of Chien-Ming Wang, one of the American League's hottest starters. Since returning from an early-season hamstring injury, Wang has anchored the Yankees' staff, flourishing even while the rest of his rotation floundered. "Make him throw the ball up," Reyes said of his approach against Wang. "If his pitches go down, there's going to be a lot of ground balls." And with a lot of ground balls, there won't be many runs. El Duque isn't liable to allow many, either, giving Sunday's game the potential to reverse the trend of Saturday's slugfest and head back in the direction of Friday's pitchers' duel. "Runs are going to be at a minimum," Wright said. "It's going to be like the first game of the series, where you really have to take advantage of every opportunity." Pitching matchup NYM: RHP Orlando Hernandez (3-2, 2.38 ERA) El Duque wasn't immune to the struggles that plagued the whole rotation during the Mets' West Coast trip, allowing more than two runs in a start -- this time, it was four -- for just the second time this season. He could easily have twice as many wins as he does this year, but poor run support has hurt him. He'll need support to beat his former team -- in three career starts against the Yankees, El Duque is 0-3. NYY: RHP Chien-Ming Wang (6-4, 3.49 ERA) Wang has reassumed his role as rock of the rotation, coming off two starts -- both wins -- in which he allowed a combined two runs in 16 innings. He has won five of his last six starts and is primed for a new experience: Sunday will mark the first Subway Series outing of his career. Player to watch Outfielder-turned-designated hitter Johnny Damon holds a .390 career average in 41 career at-bats against El Duque. And while there's not much power -- he has just one double and one home run among those 16 hits -- there's plenty of speed; he has swiped four bases off the right-hander's notoriously slow delivery.
