The local Taiwanese media sent Chien-Ming Wang several fruit baskets as
a welcome gift. Wang told his teammates to have at them. I asked Wang if
he expected the New York media to give him a gift. “Only you,” he said.
I told him I would get him a case of beer and he laughed. Wang is quite
excited about pitching here tomorrow. He’s also eager to swing the bat.
