A-Rod's 52nd helps Wang win 18th
Home run in fifth straight game contributes to sweep of Royals

KANSAS CITY -- Chien-Ming Wang tossed seven innings of
three-run ball on Sunday and earned his Major League-leading
18th win in a 6-3 Yankees victory over the Royals
at Kauffman Stadium.

王投七局失三分贏得聯盟領先的18勝。

Wang also received plenty of support from his batterymate and his third
baseman. Jorge Posada broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run double in the fifth
inning, and Alex Rodriguez continued his assault on the record books
with his 52nd homer of the season, his fourth of the series and
seventh in the Yankees' past five games.

Rodriguez has homered in his past five games, tying a career high.

marking just the fifth time a Yankees player has driven in 140 runs
since 1939. The only other players to match the feat are Joe DiMaggio,
Don Mattingly, Roger Maris and Tino Martinez.

The offense supplied plenty of support for Wang (18-6), who ranks
second in the American League in winning percentage (.750) and
lowered his ERA to 3.69, just outside of the top 10 in the AL.

洋基打線幾乎成為台灣之友，給了王很大幫忙。王目前在聯盟以0.75的勝率
排行第二。自責分3.69則恰好在美國聯盟排在前10之外。

Wang was efficient, tossing just 57 pitches through five innings and
spreading 90 over seven. He pitched at least six innings for
the 18th time in his last 19 starts and the 25th time in 27 starts
this season.

王前五局只投了57球超有效率，到七局卻總共用了90球。在王近19次先發
裡面，他友18次至少投了六局；在本季目前的27次先發裡面，則是第25次。

The Yankees have won eight of Wang's last nine starts, including
his last six. In those five starts, Wang is 5-0 with a 2.83 ERA and
has posted five quality starts. Sunday's outing was similar to many of
Wang's this season; his bowling-ball sinker perpetually yielded
ground balls.

在王最近9場先發裡面，洋基贏了8場，同時這也是他的六連勝。
王以2.83自責分的五場優質先發贏了之前的五場球。星期天的比賽也是

Wang didn't have great command -- he tied a season high with
four walks -- but he coaxed 11 ground-ball outs, including
one double play.

The win was the Yankees' fifth straight.
