Look me up: Jeff Karstens already has at least one offseason engagement set
up. The right-hander is set to travel to Taiwan this fall with the U.S.
Olympic Team and will meet up with Chien-Ming Wang for a personal tour of
the country.
"I'm definitely going to call him," Karstens said. "He gave me his number,
and I was talking with a few of the Taiwanese reporters about it. It should
be something different."
Karstens saw his promising season derailed on April 28, when he suffered a
broken left leg on a line drive hit by Boston's Julio Lugo. He has thrown
just 13 2/3 innings in the big leagues this year and is hoping for additional
work with the Olympic team, which will begin training in Arizona during
October.
