But of all the positives to come from a 9-2 victory over the Texas Rangers
, which moved the Yankees into a tie for first place with the Boston Red Sox
 in the American League East, a different one made the biggest impression
 on Manager Joe Girardi.

洋基九比二打敗德州遊騎兵，與波士頓紅襪隊並列美聯東區第一名的寶座
，但對總教練吉拉迪而言有一件不同事使得他很驚訝。

“Chien-Ming Wang,” Girardi said. “The way he threw the ball tonight and
 the sinker he had, commanding it down in the zone, his control — that’s
what stands out most.”

好球邊的低點，這就是他表現最好的一面。

Wang collected the final six outs of the game, retiring every hitter he faced. He
 had a strikeout, a ground out and a fly out in both the eighth and the ninth
innings. It was a much more convincing performance than his first relief
appearance, last Friday at home, when he gave up two runs and six hits in
three innings.

王在這場比賽收拾了最後六個出局數，面對六個打者都請他們回家吃自己。他
在八、九兩局各投出了一次三振、一次滾地出局、一次飛球出局。他的表現比
第一次中繼表現還更讓人覺得非常有效率，上星期五在主場時，他在三局裏面

“I caught his last outing, and he had more sink tonight,” Cash said. “He
should be really happy. He had that swing-and-miss sinker. He didn’t have
that before.”

捕手凱許說：「我上次接過他的球，他今晚丟了很多伸卡球，他應該真的很
快樂。他丟了很多讓打者揮空的伸卡球。在這之前我從未看過這種情況。」

Wang has been in bullpen purgatory since his emergency promotion last
Friday, when the Yankees needed a long reliever and he was the only
pitcher on the 40-man roster who could fill the role.

從上星期五，王很緊急的被召回，他已經在牛棚暫時待了一陣子，當洋基需
要一名長中繼時，王是唯一在40人名單中能填補這個角色的人。

Wang might have taken a spot in the rotation, but Phil Hughes earned a longer
 look with his dominant start Monday. That leaves Wang stuck in unfamiliar duty.
 Asked if he could start again, Wang said, “I’m ready.”

王一開始回來有可能回到先發輪值，但是休斯在星期一先發時也主宰了比賽
，所以受到關愛了。這使得王離開先發角色，只能困在一個不適合的職務上
。如果問他如果能再次先發，王說：「我準備好了」。

Wang began the season as the Yankees’ No. 2 starter, a nod to his 19
victories in 2006 and 2007. Three rough April starts convinced the Yankees that
Wang must be hurt, and he was sent to the disabled list with weakness in his
hips. Barring another injury, he cannot return to the minors because he is out of
options.

王在開季時被洋基定位為第二號先發投手，關鍵在於他在2006~2007年連續
二季19勝。四月份連續三場先發表現很糟，讓洋基確信王真的受傷了，而且
他以髖部不夠強壯原因被送到了傷兵名單。除了受傷這個原因之外，他不能
回到小聯盟，因為他選擇權用完了，無法被下放。

“I told him when he came up here, whether you’re in the pen or starting, show
 them that you’re here to help,” Burnett said. “Go out there with a little
attitude, and show them you belong and you want to pitch and you’re going to
help us no matter where you’re at. I thought he took a huge step tonight. He
got ahead and his ball was moving everywhere.”

柏奈特說：「我曾告訴他，當他來到這裏，無論你在牛棚或者先發，要表現
出你在這裏就是對球隊有幫助。走出你的低姿態，並且要展現出你所擁有且
你要投球的決心，無論你身處在哪都要幫助我們給我們看。我認為他今晚有
很大的進展。他一路往前邁進而且他的球尾勁好到可以到處鑽。」
