Yanks turn to Wang to stop skid

New York (55-49) at Baltimore (49-54), Sunday, 1:35 p.m. ET

The Yankees will send Chien-Ming Wang to the mound on Sunday in hopes of
getting back on the winning track at Camden Yards.
Wang, who leads the Yankees with 11 victories this season, owns a career 2-1
record vs. the Birds with a 4.87 ERA.

The right-hander is 10-2 with a 2.74 ERA in 12 career starts in July, and
he's won four of his last five outings.

Countering for the Orioles will be Daniel Cabrera. In nine starts against the
Yanks, Cabrera owns a 2-3 record and 4.15 ERA. The right-hander has struck
out 26 batters in 52 innings against the Bombers, but has also walked an
alarming 31 batters.

Pitching matchup
NYY: RHP Chien-Ming Wang (11-5, 3.57 ERA)
Wang was given an early seven-run lead against the Royals in his last start,
so the right-hander set himself on cruise control. He ended up allowing four
runs on seven hits in six innings, walking two and striking out three along
the way.


BAL: RHP Daniel Cabrera (7-10, 5.04 ERA)
Cabrera turned in a solid performance in his last outing, against the Devil
Rays, allowing just one hit over seven innings in one of his best games this
season. He induced three double plays, and the only downer came in the form
of walks. Cabrera walked five and has allowed a Major League-worst 73 free
passes this season.



Player to watch
In 14 career at-bats against Wang, Kevin Millar owns a .500 batting average
with two doubles, a triple and four RBIs.
