Jeter, Wang lift Yanks to win over Cubs

NEW YORK -- Chien-Ming Wang added another impressive outing
to his rookie season, but it was Derek Jeter who stole
the show on Saturday.

被D.Jeter搶走.

Jeter hit two home runs, including his first career grand slam,
leading the Yankees to an 8-1 win over the Cubs at Yankee Stadium.
The win was the fifth in a row for New York,
lifting the Yanks three games over .500.

Jeter打了二支全壘打,包含他個人職業生涯中的第一支滿貫,在洋基主場帶領
洋基隊8-1打敗來訪的小熊隊,同時也贏得最近在主場的五連勝,也把勝率
抬高到五成以上多三場.

Wang (4-2) tossed eight innings of one-run ball,
allowing just five hits and one walk while striking out five.

小王(4-2)主投八局,僅僅只掉一分,被擊出5支安打及投出一次四壞球保送
同時有五次三振

Alex Rodriguez got the Yanks out to an early lead,
singling in Gary Sheffield in the first inning.
New York plated a second run in the fourth on an
RBI double by Jorge Posada, then added another
in the fifth on Sheffield's RBI single, giving Wang a 3-0 lead.

在第四局的時候,Posada 的二壘打打下第二分,然後第五局 Gary Sheffield

After being held scoreless through five, the Cubs finally got
to Wang in the sixth, as Jason Dubois drilled a solo homer to left,
his sixth. The homer didn't faze Wang, who retired the next three
batters to hold the lead at two runs.

經過五局的沒有得分,小熊終於在第六局,由Jason Dubois 一棒敲出左外野的牆外
這也是他本季的第六支.但是這支全壘打沒有嚇到小王,他讓下面的連續三個打
者出局,把比分凍結在二分差

New York extended it in the bottom of the inning, loading the
bases against Glendon Rusch (5-3) and Rich Hill with one out.
That brought Jeter to the plate with the bases loaded,
giving him yet another crack at his first grand slam.

洋基在下個半局馬上展開反攻,在 Rusch及Rich 的主投下造成一人出局滿壘的情形
讓Jeter 又有另外一個機會打出他生涯的第一支滿貫

But unlike the previous 135 at-bats, Jeter delivered on this one,
belting a 2-1 pitch from Joe Borowski over the wall in left-center
to boost the lead to 7-1.

跟前面135個打數不同的是,Jeter 終於打出去了,在一好二壞的球數,把 Joe
Borowski 的球喵到中左外野牆外,把比數打成 7-1

Before the at-bat, Jeter was 45-for-135 with the bases juiced in
his career, an impressive .333 average. He had driven in 114 RBIs
in those at-bats, but none of those 45 hits had left the ballpark.

在這個打席之前, 在Jeter 職業生涯中,有過 135 次滿壘機會,其中有 45 支的安打
打率是令人印象深刻的 .333, 貢獻了 114個打點,但是這 45 支安打沒有一支
是飛出牆外的.

Jeter added a solo shot in the eighth against Cliff Bartosh,
giving Jeter eight career multi-homer games in his career.

Jeter 同時在第八局時,又打了 Cliff Bartosh一支揚春彈,這也是Jeter
職業生涯中的第八次單場二發以上
