這是Billy 在9/18 參加 ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology)
的會議，獲頒特殊貢獻獎(Special Recognition Award)，
應邀致詞的片段和講詞。
我覺得最好玩的是他講的笑話。
一開始當然是要恭維在座的科學家對科學的奉獻犧牲(commitment)，
接著他就說了豬跟雞的笑話:
有一隻豬跟雞走在路上，突然來了一隻可憐兮兮的小兔子，
兔子對牠們說: 「請你們可憐可憐我吧，我早餐需要吃點東西，
而我非常愛吃培根蛋(bacon and egg) 」
雞說: 「那有什麼問題，我可以給你蛋啊! 」
豬說: 「喂喂，老兄，等一下。對你來說，那不過是捐獻(donation)而已，可是
對我來說，可是很大的犧牲(commitment)耶!」
全場大笑。
然後Billy又補了一句: 「所以我想我要說的是，你們都是豬!」
全場又嘩然大笑。
Speaking of commitment, Dr. Baillie told me a joke last night. There
was this pig and this chicken going across the road, of course this is
convention so its probably going to get passed around eventually, but
there's this pig and chicken walking across the road and this scraggly
little rabbit walks up to them who has seen better days and he says,
"Hey fellows listen, could you help a rabbit who is down on his luck?
I 'd really like something to eat for breakfast, you know, I love bacon
and eggs." And the chicken says, "Yeah I got no problem. I can give you
a couple of eggs." And the pig goes, "Hey wait a minute pal. For you it's
a donation, for me it's a real commitment. "(Laughter) So in other words,
I guess I'm saying you're all pigs. (Laughter)
對了，Billy還說他中學時考科學從來沒有及格過。;P
國中一年級的時候科學博覽會，他用木頭做了一台賽車，
老師問他那跟科學有什麼關係，他說那是空氣力學(aerodynamics)的實驗。
結果老師給了他 D 。
