[CSI] 1x23 Strip Strangler的翻譯

    好吧，我承認，我真的是太無聊了
    看CSI看到在旁邊做筆記....
    不過這一集實在是翻譯太離譜了，
    早上看的時候只是覺得很多地方怪怪的
    晚上再看一遍，這次記得帶筆記了，結果被我抓了好幾個包...@@

    1. 在第一現場外面，警衛Syd跑去向Grissom和Culpepper通報消息
       Culpepper問他有沒有看到什麼，他說：
       "I didn't get his license, I didn't think anything of it, until this
        morning. He was really burning rubber though"
        Burning rubber就是字面的意思，在燒橡膠，
        結果字幕翻成他塊頭很大
        導致後來Nick打電話跟Griss說那警衛不是說他看到嫌犯在燒橡膠嗎？
        （他發現現場沒有痕跡）
        我楞了一下：他哪裡有提到燒橡膠？

    2. Grissom和Brass在Brass辦公室討論，Brass在猜是不是Paul Milander的可能性
       Grissom說：
       Millander stages suicides in bathtubs-- with  paternal figures.
       This guy's signature is overkill-rage against young women.
        字幕翻成：
        Millander已經自殺了，而且他犯案對象他父親
        我又楞了一下：Millander是在第二季才自殺吧？ 他還未卜先知？
        原本應該是：Millander把被害人布置成在浴缸裡自殺的樣子。
        我發現譯者真的不知道"stage"的動詞用法
        他後面有一個地方錯得更離譜...

    3. Sara 要進行引誘兇手出手的行動之前，跟Grissom的對話
        Grissom說研究他的過去就可以預測他未來行動，
        Sara反駁說：You've been saying that for weeks.
        字幕把「說」翻成「研究」了 （好啦，這是小錯，反正我很龜毛就是了）

    4. 在監視的車子上，Culpepper很不耐煩地說他們應該改在書店行動
        "Gets a lot of foot traffic in there, according to the field agents"
        字幕翻成：跟地方探員報告，那裡人比較多
        ㄟ，應該是「根據」他們報告吧...

    5. 任務失敗，Culpepper說：
        "Nothing ventured, nothing gained, but I don't believe this is
        our man"
        第一句話不就是「不入虎穴焉得虎子」的英文說法嗎？
        字幕翻成這次行動沒有收穫
        雖然看下文的確是這個意思，但 如果他那句翻成沒有收穫的話，
        Culpepper就不需要用轉折的but了。

    6. 同一幕，Sara很失望地說："He met the profile"
        字幕翻成「至少方向對了」
        她應該是在說那個打算搶劫她的人符合嫌犯特徵吧！

    7. 飯店發生兇殺案，Grissom和Catherine趕到現場
        Grissom觀察到 檯燈的電線沒拔起來（之前幾次都有拔）
        書也好好的
        Catherine說： "Staged?"
        她懷疑那是兇手故意布置現場，故佈疑雲。（stage動詞用就是布置現場）
        字幕翻成：「什麼階段？」
        這是這一集最扯的翻譯錯誤，
        我第一次就是看到這裡，才覺得譯者真的翻錯很多...
        （所以晚上才做筆記:P，其實這邊寫的除了這一點外其他都是第二次看才抓到的)

    8. Culpepper要以連續殺人罪名起訴飯店殺妻的男人，Grissom和他在走廊談話
        他向他抗議，說那個人並沒有犯下之前的案子
        如果Culpepper停下來思考就會知道，
        Culpepper只是很不以為意地說："Duly noted, Grissom. Duly noted"
        字幕翻成「正當理由」
        我又楞了一下：真是前不著村後不著店的翻譯啊！
        他的意思應該是：你的意思已經傳達給我了（但我不同意/相信你）

    9. 記者會現場，記者問Grissom是否要補充說明
        Catherine小聲地對他提醒："Politic"
        這是呼應她之前對Grissom的忠告："Learn to be more politic"
        politic這裡是指懂得人情世故、應對進退的意思，
        字幕翻成「政治」（又不是加了s!）
        跟政治半點關係也沒有好不好！

    10. 警長要讓Grissom「休假」
        他說："You brought this on yourself now. Next time you play
        with my career, maybe you'll think twice"
        You brought this on yourself 在我看來是「這是你自找的」
        （後面那句不就有很濃的警告意味嗎？）
        字幕好像是翻成：你下次好好想一想 (not sure about this one)

    11. Grissom回到家裡，Catherine去找他，發現他在服用偏頭痛的藥
        Grissom說 我不喜歡有人來我家
        她說："You don't like when you can't solve a case. Or command your
               troups."
        字幕翻成 你不喜歡破不了案的感覺，還是不能指使你的手下
        其實聽Catherine的講法，這不是疑問句啊，
        她只是在陳述Grissom這兩樣都不喜歡，而不是問他到底是不喜歡哪一個

    12. Catherine和Grissom去找 因猥褻而被捕的酒保（精液的DNA屬於他的）
        發現一無所獲（原來嫌犯只是向他買精液的樣本...so pervert!)
        Catherine說： Other guy was planting hairs, he was planting semen."
        字幕把"plant"翻成「丟」 （丟頭髮、丟精液）
        plant在這裡應該有刻意放置/布置的意思吧，「丟」感覺很隨便哩！

    13. 在Grissom家，Warrick和Sara向他報告案情
        Warrick說他在Audrey Hayes家的門口找到白色棉纖維
        "I went to Audrey Hayes' apartment. Paid particular attention
        to point of entry.  I found a small persistence of white cotton fibers"
        Grissom說：
        "Could have been his staging area. He wears his murder kit."
        這裡字幕翻成：可能他曾經在這裡出沒
        就是看到這裡讓我發現 譯者真的真的不知道"stage"的意思....@@

    12. Grissom去找Syd Goggle
        Goggle說：我以為你忙著對付FBI
        Grissom說："The investigations are always in flux."
        字幕翻成：已經開始調查了 （不是早就開始調查了嗎？）
        flux 我查字典，是流動的意思
        我猜他的意思大概是調查工作本來就不固定吧...@@

    13. 一樣是Grissom跟Syd Goggle的談話
        他猜測Goggle就是去Strong's gym:
        "Strong's gym. That's where the women told you to get lost (script
        的版本是"bug off"), right?"
        字幕翻成 你就是在那裡找尋獵物的對嗎？
        意思有點接近啦，可是應該是那些女人叫他滾蛋，
        他才惱羞成怒要把她們殺死，"Stuffing club towels down their throats
        makes your point"

    14. 最後ending部分，全CSI組員一起吃早餐
        Sara問說有沒有早餐預算，Grissom說Catherine在申請
        Sara說: "Good, coz our plates are up and nobody has any money"
        字幕少翻了前半：「因為這次大家都沒拿到獎金」
        接著Warrick, Sara, Nick起身去拿他們點的東西
        Nick說：
        "You got them, right, Warrick?"
        Warrick: "Yeah, picture that."
        字幕翻成：做得好，華瑞克
        其實Nick是開玩笑地要Warrick幫他付錢，Warrick才會說：想得美咧！

這一集我特別喜歡最後早餐的那段，
真是美好的結局啊...呵呵....
還有Grissom為了Sara發飆的樣子實在是酷斃了！ 真是鋼鐵男子啊~ XD

因為這集學姐沒幫我錄到，所以我之後沒辦法看錄影帶證實
所以如果有記錯的地方就還請見諒，多提出討論喔! :)

        還有一段
        我沒記到字幕是怎麼翻的了
        可是後來再看劇本的時候，
        發現字幕應該也是翻錯了
        （因為兩次看都覺得怪怪的）
        就是Warrick跟Sara到Grissom家向他報告案情
        他們告訴他 兇手可能是在健身房鎖定目標的

       Warrick:  I remembered what you said about                                                                                 *
                 these Signature guys, and how they
                 got low self-esteem and are always
                 going to the gym to work out.  So
                 I'm thinking "gym," "towels."

       Sara:     But the Frequented Locations report
                 said none of these women belonged
                 to a gym -- where he might've
                 "spotted" them.

        Warrick: So I went back and looked to see if they ever
                tried out one of those introductory offers...

        Sara: Which I do that all the time --
              it's free workouts and you never
              have to sign up.

        最後Sara說的那一段
        是接續Warrick說 他去查那些被害者是不是有上健身房的「試用課程」
        Sara說： 我一天到晚都跑去試用，因為可以免費健身，而且不用加入會員
        （Warrick: 除了要簽到以外 "But you do have to sign in")
        我一直對Sara講的那段 which子句那邊覺得很困惑
        看了劇本以後，才茅塞頓開...原來是這樣啊...

side note:

"burning rubber" means when the car goes really fast and stops suddenly,
there will be skid-mark (rubber from tire) left on the pavement.

Because of the high friction, it produces heat, so it will smell like
burning rubber.

Syd Goggle implied that the car went very fast, in a hurry, so the rubber
was burning...

Therefore, that sentence should be translated as" it was going very fast",
somewhere around that meaning.


and...

boy, that translator really doesn't know what "stage" means.
We should sendthis person a letter with a big "stage" on it.
