手邊剛好有書提到這點，把他整理上來:



LOLITA, light of my life, fire of my loins.

My sin, my soul.

Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps

down the palate to tap,at three, on the teeth.

這部小說的重複乃是句法結構上的對位，還有相似的音韻──

那種常見於詩歌作品裡的反覆(詩化文體)。

舉例來說，第一段便出現了如煙火表演的頭韻法(註)

敘事者為了慶祝那個他癡迷心愛的名字，讓L音與T音巧妙的在行文中綻放:


Light、Life、Loins(腰，形容生殖力的部位)，

Tip(尖端)、Tongue、Trip(遊走)

Lo、Lee、Ta。



light of my life, fire of my loins 連續譬喻後

My sin、My soul又壓了頭韻

而下一個譬喻，說舌尖從上顎往下顎輕輕落在牙齒上

這個譬喻把讀者的注意力引到同時用來表達口才與情慾的器官 (舌頭、牙齒與口腔)




註:在一行詩或一個句子中，由於相鄰之詞的起首字母發音相同而產生的音韻。
