Shenmue 3 Physical Release on PC Only Includes Data for Epic Games Store

The disc in Shenmue 3's PC physical release for backers will not contain any
game data, just data for the Epic Games Store installer.
A new Kickstarter post went live for Shenmue 3 today, and while the major
draw was the Deep Silver and Ys Net will finally be offering refunds to those
unhappy about Epic Games Store exclusivity, it also included some other
important information on the PC release. Clearing up confusion from a
previous post, Ys Net did confirm that those who backed Shenmue 3 to get a
physical PC release will still be receiving a disk in that package. That
being said, it comes with a major caveat.

According to the developers, “the PC Physical version will be delivered on
disk. However, the disk will contain the Epic Games Store installer and not
the actual game data.” Games like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain have
done something similar with Steam in the past, with the disc mainly just
serving as the middleman between the player and the storefront the game in
question is available on. If you were hoping to avoid the Epic Games Store
controversy via the physical PC release you backed for, that will
unfortunately not be possible.

Even as someone who does not inherently hate the Epic Games Store, the fact
that Shenmue 3’s PC disc will not include any actual game data is
disappointing. Physical PC games are becoming less and less common as digital
storefronts take over for the sake of convenience, so it’s sad to see
Shenmue 3 skimping on its physical release. As I mentioned, Ys Net will be
offering refunds for backers that are not pleased with this decision, but
this announcement is still disappointing for those of us that like getting
games physically so we’ll have the game data on hand.

寄給莎木三贊助玩家的光碟中只會有Epic Game Store的安裝程式，不會有莎木三的遊戲
資料。

第一次看到寄給玩家收藏的光碟中不含遊戲本體的......

只給Epic Game Store安裝程式真的很炫。

再看來Epic說會負擔莎木三的所有退款支出，難怪呀！ XD

我剛打開了橘盒看了一下...

明明就有HF2的遊戲檔...那只有Steam安裝檔。
