Luigi Cagni is the new Empoli boss after Mario Somma was axed
by the struggling Serie A side this evening.

Despite a vote of confidence from club President Fabrizio Corsi on Monday,
last night's 1-1 draw at home to Udinese proved to be the final straw
for Somma, whose side haven't won in nine Serie A matches.
儘管在本週一Empoli主席 Corsi才對主教練 Somma表示信心，
本輪主場１－１平 Udinese仍成為了壓死 Somma的最後一根稻草，
Empoli已九輪不勝。
"We do not think that Somma deserves the sack,"
said Corsi just three days ago.
Empoli主席 Corsi三天前說：「我不認為 Somma應該被炒。」
"At the moment, rather than a new Coach, we need a doctor to remove
all the fear and worry from the players' heads that prevents them
from playing the way they know they can."
「在目前這個情況下，與其換新教練，我們更需要一個醫生，

However, Corsi has since had a re-think and, as reported
by Football Italia this afternoon, has shown Somma the door –
a decision which has saddened the tactician.
不過 Corsi重新思考過之後 Somma還是被炒了。
"Sometimes performances count for little," the 42-year-old
tactician conceded. "Relationships are fundamental in this game.
Somma說：「有時表現如何影響不大，關係才是這遊戲的基礎。」
"I met Corsi and he told me that he was not in agreement
with my management, while I wanted to continue on my path.
Seeing as we disagreed, we tranquilly went our separate ways.
「我見了 Corsi而他說不同意我的執教方式，但我想繼續自己的程序，
既然出現了不合，我們平靜地走向分歧的道路。」
"If the season ended today then we would be safe.
The President sees it differently though. It is his club and so he decides.
「如果賽季現在就結束，我們安全地處在降級區外，
主席並不這麼看，這是他的球隊所以由他來決定。」
"It's sad to leave in the middle of the season, yet I have no regrets.
I still have the memories of last year's great championship."
「在季中就離開球隊我很難過，但是並沒有留下遺憾，
我還保有去年奪冠的那些美好回憶。」
Cagni (pictured) pipped Giuseppe Papadopulo to the post
as Somma's successor, with the former Verona and Piacenza boss
accepting an 18-month contract.
接替者 Cagni賢前帶過 Verona、Piacenza，簽下十八個月的合同。
